Lord Mirdalan, affectionately called Mird, was a pet strill that belonged to Walon Vau, and was possibly the only living thing that Vau truly loved. Since strills were hamaphrodites, being of both genders, Mird was often referred to as "it" in conversation and in his writings, which were considered acceptable given its sexual make-up. Mird was despised by Kal Skirata and his Null Arc Troopers after Walon Vau sicced it on a young Ordo. At some point in its life on Kamino, it killed a lower caste blue-eyed Kaminoan during the training of the Grand Army of the Republic on Kamino. Seeing that this brought no appreciable reaction what-so-ever from the higher caste grey-eyed Kaminoans, it was learned later that Walon Vau and Kal Skirata earned an even deeper hatred for the Kaminoan cloners for their sheer cold view of all "lesser, imperfect creatures". During the Clone Wars, Mird accompanied Walon Vau] to Coruscant and accompanied Kal Skirata as part of his civilian disguise in dealing with Separatist terrorists, even aiding on a couple of missions along the way.
After Walon Vau's bank heist on Mygeeto of his family's secured holdings, Mirdalan stayed behind with him when he became trapped in an ice worm hole, helping lead Kal Skirata to his location, aid in rescuing him and rewarming him by blanketing Walon Vau's body with its own.
Later, he would accompany Walon Vau and Skirata in the ship Aay'han on the search for former chief geneticist Ko Sai, and then to Mandalore, where Etain Tur-Mukan concealed herself prior to the birth of her son, Venku. The evening before the birth, Mirdalan built a nest and brought a freshly-killed shatual to honor the occasion, both stunning and touching the Mandos present, most notably Rav Bralor.
When Boba Fett and his granddaughter Mirta Gev were searching for him to reverse the clone degeneration slowly killing Fett, Jaing and Mird ambushed the two in Slave I. Jaing told them that Ko Sai's data, which they had been seeking, was gone. Jaing later sent little Bob'ika genetic material to stop the degeneration of Boba's tissues.
At the marriage of Mirta and Ghes Orade, Jaing and Mird were present. When Jaina Solo walked by the strill, it acted as though it recognized her, but that has not been further illuminated to date.
